My interest in working with children and families began at the University of California at Berkeley, where I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology. While earning my Masters in Counseling from San Diego State University, I worked as a pre-school teacher, developing an intimate understanding of the challenges that teachers face. After earning my master’s degree, I served as a mental health consultant for public, private pay, and Head Start infant, toddler and preschool early education programs, including Montessori and Reggio Emilia inspired programs. This work included partnering with child welfare and special education departments to provide support for children with identified risk factors, special needs or disabilities to be fully included.
Since that early start, I have provided support as a therapist to child, adolescent and adult populations in various settings, including community-based wraparound service programs for CPS involved families and mental health consultation for early childhood programs. From 2003-2015, I coupled my work as a therapist with a position as lead trainer and coach for West Ed Center for Child and Family studies on the Teaching Pyramid Framework throughout California. During this time, I developed a strength-based coaching framework utilizing video as the foundation for reflective practice that continues to be taught and implemented throughout California.
Currently, I maintain a private practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist in San Marcos, CA serving individuals, couples, and families with a focus on trauma.
I draw from my experience as a teacher, coach, and therapist to develop trainings that help adults work smarter not harder. Please email me to find out how I can help you meet your training or coaching needs.
